🏈It's Game Day! Savage Varsity Football (6-1, 4-0) travels to Ada today for a critical district match up with the Ada Cougars (4-3, 3-1). Broken Bow is alone atop the district standings with Ada, Sallisaw and Poteau currently in a three-way tie for second place. Ada needs a win tonight to keep their hopes of a district title alive. When the 2024 varsity football season began, the Cougars were ranked in the top 5 of Class 4A in most polls while the Savages were predicted to finish at, or near, the bottom of the district. Fast forward to week 8 of the regular season and it's Broken Bow with a 6-game winning streak and a top 5 ranking. The Cougars are seeking to extend their current 10-game home winning streak, a streak which includes last season's dramatic 28-27 win over the Savages in week 10. Ada advanced to the state semifinals last season. Broken Bow defeated Hilldale last week 37-22 in a game filled with turnovers and penalties. Despite those miscues, the Savages racked up 446 yards of total offense against the Hornets and now have accumulated over 3000 total yards in just seven games. Senior running back Quinlan Bailey had 163 yards on 16 carries and sophomore quarterback Greydon Howell threw for 158 yards and three touchdowns in the win. Tonight's game kicks off at 7:00 PM at Koi Ishto Stadium on the campus of East Central University. A clear-bag policy is in effect at the stadium entrance. A live-streamed telecast of tonight's game is available on YouTube @BrokenBowSavages channel.

🪡6th grade Family and Consumer Science classes have begun their sewing journey for the semester. The students will learn how to pick complimentary colors of fabric, hand stitching, sewing buttons and machine sewing. Thanks to Mrs. Karla Schwartz and her generous donation our classroom will have enough sewing machines to all sew together as a class. This will make learning to sew on a machine much easier. Our 6th grade FACS program has grown over the last two years and now serves 45 students in the three class periods it is taught.

Spanish class students created sugar skull masks inspired by Día de los Muertos (day of the dead.)This holiday celebrates the lives of the deceased through gatherings, humorous remembrances and festivals. The Day of the Dead is a holiday traditionally celebrated on November 1 and 2, though other days, such as October 31 or November 6, may be included depending on the location. The multi-day holiday involves family and friends gathering to pay respects and remember friends and family members who have died.
