🔸November is Native American Heritage Month To honor and learn about Indigenous traditions, Mrs. Tolison’s class is creating dreamcatchers! Students are exploring the stories shared by the Ojibwe and Lakota peoples, learning about the meaning behind each part of a dreamcatcher, and creating their own with care and creativity. "I'm so proud of their hard work and the respect they’re showing for the cultures we’re studying," she said.

🏈The Savages (9-1) host the Wagoner Bulldogs (5-5) in the first round of the OSSAA Class 4A State Championship Playoffs tonight at Memorial Stadium. Broken Bow's last playoff appearance ended with a one-sided loss at Wagoner in 2023. The two teams have met eight times previously with each team winning four games. Tickets are $10 at the gate for all ages. Military veterans enter the game for free tonight. Also, McCurtain County National Bank has purchased the first 500 tickets and will be distributing them in person only in front of the main entrance beginning at 5:00 p.m. tonight. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. and our livestream will begin at 6:45 p.m. on YouTube @BrokenBowSavages. https://youtube.com/@brokenbowsavages As always, our livestream telecast is made available at no charge thanks, in part, to our annual media partners. The BBHS Senior Class "Game of Life" and College/Career Fair Event will take place on Thursday, November 13 from 8:50am to 11:15. The "Game of Life" will be in the auditorium and the College/Career Fair will be in the library. It’s going to be fun!

🎮🌟Savage Esports is heading to state in Overwatch 2! Through the process of 3 in person tournaments, Savages faced schools such as Bixby and Owasso, earning their place as one of the top 8 teams in the state! State championships will be held on January 17th at Contenders in Tulsa, OK!

💫BROKEN BOW VARSITY CHEER IS HEADED TO STATE!!

Members of the Carpentry/Skills USA classes attended the Southeast District Fall Leadership Conference at Kiamichi Technical College! The students attended breakout sessions on leadership skills that are preparing them for leadership in the world of work. Jude Stacey, Reagan Sharp, and Blake Whitfield earned their Statesmen Awards today and Haden Brace, Faith Cook, and James Underwood also attended the conference. The attendees also got to observe a US Flag retirement ceremony where Broken Bow High School's DJ Goodno played Tapps during the ceremony. Great job to the attendees and we look forward to seeing them use the skills they are learning to "Champion Their Futures".

BEHIND THE SCENES with the… 🌁 “Middle School Trading Card Club.” It’s a twice-a-week, at-lunch option for kiddos to have some fun! “We strategize, socialize, and compete in a friendly, positive atmosphere. It’s a highlight of my time at RJMS so far,” says Mr. Bothe.

WOOD TO SERVE ON STATE BOARD Recently, members of the BBHS Student Council participated at the Oklahoma Association of Student Councils State Convention held at Ponca City High School. While in attendance Students Amelia Sanchez and Melanie Garcia acted as student facilitators and led student breakout sessions and Alfredo Morales spoke from the main stage about his summer attending the OASC's Advanced summer camp. Their advisor, Wanda Wood, was also selected to serve a three year term as a member of the State Executive Board! congratulations Mrs. Wood!

🌟 Shine On Staff Spotlight: Mrs. Amber Beck! 🌟 This week we’re excited to celebrate Mrs. Amber Beck, our amazing 4th Grade Math Teacher! ➕💙 Mrs. Beck has been in education for 13 years and this marks her 7th year at Bennett—though it’s her first year back, and we’re so glad to have her home again! 💛 When asked what she loves most about Bennett, she shared: 💬 “I enjoy how everyone works together and the administration here is truly involved and wants to help. The structure that is created by the employees and helpfulness is fabulous.” ✨ A few fun facts about Mrs. Beck: ☕ Favorite drink: Iced French Vanilla Coffee 🍫 Favorite snack: Reese’s Pieces 🌮 Favorite restaurant: Mexico Lindo’s (especially with her family!) 🐴 Fun fact: She loves horses and has eight! After the Friday football game with Poteau, the Broken Bow Cheer Team will hit the road from Poteau straight to OKC to compete at Regionals! We’re taking the stage on Saturday the 8th! Let’s show our spirit and aim for the top! If we make the Top 15 we’ll be off to State on the 15th!
