It's Wild Wednesday and we are wild about Mrs. Wright! She has been teaching for 12 years. One thing that makes her wild about teaching is that she loves watching the students grasp new concepts not only in academic areas but in their personal growth. Mrs. Wright shared that her most wild teacher snack would be Worther caramel candies.

Each month #RJMS recognizes students whom teachers nominate for various reasons. These students are considered #CHAMPIONS.....

♦️November is Native American month, and members of our American Indians Leaders Youth Council (AILYC) presented an exhibition of Choctaw social dances today at the RJMS Champion assembly.
Through social dancing, members of the Choctaw tribe pass tradition and culture from one generation to the next.
Three dances were presented: the Stealing Partners Dance, Snake Dance, and Walk Dance. Brody Tehauno explained the significance of these dances to the students.
A very special thanks to Mrs. Parra and Ms. Phillips for leading these students and teaching the traditions of the Native Americans to our students!

🗝️On this Giving Tuesday members of the BBHS Key Club sort through gifts purchased for the Adopt an Angel Program. All twenty-six members unanimously voted to spend the bulk of the funds in their activity account to purchase gifts for four angels in our county, as well as contribute their own money toward the cause. "I couldn't be more proud of this group! They are so quick to help and encourage. My heart is full. It's a privilege to be their advisor." - Miss Pruitt We encourage everyone who is able to Adopt an Angel. They are available in Broken Bow at Ace Hardware and other area businesses. How Adopt an Angel works: Once a needy child has been registered and accepted as an Angel their Christmas wish list is shared with donors in the community who purchase gifts of new clothing and toys. The gifts are distributed to the family to place under their family Christmas tree. Giving Tuesday is a day that encourages people to give back in whatever ways they can.

♦️American Indian Leadership Youth Council “Royalty Court” was crowned recently at Jenkins Auditorium.
The 2023/24 AILYC High School Princess is 👑Melea Jefferson and the AILYC Middle School Princess is 👑Kayedence Young.
The contestants are judged on modeling, interview and talent.
A ribbon skirt fashion show was also held at the event. Considered sacred, ribbon skirts are a symbol of identity, resilience and survival often connecting the wearer to culture and kinship. (More photos available on our Facebook page)

The next JOM (Johnson O'Malley) Meeting is set for Tuesday, November 28 @ 6:00 p.m. It will be held in the High School Library. See you there!

Happy Thanksgiving 2023

Our first annual JAG “Community Provision Project” was a smashing success!
“We served hundreds of people with the help of our amazingly generous community! A rough count revealed that we were able to gift more than 1500 items to our families in McCurtain County! We love giving back to the community that is helping build a strong future for each of us. Thank you for your donations, McCurtain County. We are proud to be a part of you!” Says Mrs. Vee.

Your Broken Bow Savage ESports team is State Runners Up in Paladins! The team met at 7:30am on the Saturday of Thanksgiving break. We played against 10 teams and ended up losing to last year's state champions, Konawa. These kids fought hard for this and outperformed their record last season. The loss was a hard one, but we're walking with our heads held high: We're bringing home a trophy! -Coach Kiper 🎮Paladins Team is Seth Sanders, Colt Haltom, Hunter Haltom, William Kemp, and Cooper Kemp.

We Remember - A Native Tribute by Broken Bow Middle School Art students. “We studied Native American #history and from the material we covered, they chose their inspiration and wrote their own stories. They even wrote diaries describing experiences on the Trail of Tears. Some will seriously make you cry. I am soooooo proud of these kids,” Ms. Phillips said. (Video: RJMS #Art 2 and 3 students present and describe their art.) https://youtu.be/l_p9zk94EOQ?si=OlC8cRhUsyzgwwVb
