BBPS Yearbook partnered with local stylist/barbers and were able to give approximately 40 free haircuts today to high school students! A big thank you to Molly, Hadleigh and Kennison for their time and willingness to help us fulfill this community service project. It’s a great day to be a Savage!!!

The BBHS Savage Speech and Debate team is showing what it means to be a Savage. The Team and their coach attended the Madill qualifying tournament this past weekend and returned with three medals in tow. 🥉Courtney Wood placed 3rd in Poetry. 🥈Courtney Wood and Jay Rodriguez placed 2nd in Humorous Duet. 🥈Kaydence Barnes placed 2nd in Dramatic Interpretation. "Our season will continue in January, and we are excited what the year is going to bring. I could not be more proud of these students. They are showing up and showing out!!" Said Coach Clowers. Way to go, Savages!!

Freshman Point Guard Greydon Howell scored an outstanding 42 points Saturday night leading the Savages to a 70-60 victory over the Hugo Buffaloes in the final game of the Savage Classic. Greydon's mark of 42 is a record for a Freshman Varsity player. Congratulations! 📷Broken Bow Activity Shots

🎮One of the hardest parts of being a coach is seeing how hard your players work and practice and then see them come up short in competition. Out of 400 students in Oklahoma, Omar Lopez and Gunner Pope placed in the top 65 and got to compete at state at SWOSU in Weatherford, OK. These kids have a great attitude and a willingness to learn. They made friends, they played close matches, but in the end came up short. We're not coming home in shame: We're coming home like the winners we are. They did their best and I'll never ask for more. A message from Mr. Thomas: I would like to recognize Broken Bow Band alumnus and one of my former percussionist Nathan Hossenlopp. Nathan is currently a senior percussion music education major at the University of North Texas, one of the most acclaimed music programs in the country. Nathan was the featured marimba soloist for the UNT percussion ensemble called “The Percussion Players” under the direction of Drum Corps International Hall of Famer Paul Rennick. The piece performed is titled “Konzertstük” by Kyle Voss and was commissioned several years back by the Southern Arkansas University Percussion Ensemble and their percussion director Michael Britt, which is one of Nathan’s former BBHS band mates Zach Thomas’ current percussion instructor. Nathan has been fortunate enough to work with Mr. Rennick, one of leading figures in marching percussion and percussion education throughout his time at UNT. All of us at BBHS band are super proud of Nathan, one of the hardest working musicians to come through our band program.

2023 Heisman High School #Scholarship School #Winners for Broken Bow High School. Congratulations! 🎓Sam Hurst & Caitlynn Hammer In Recognition of Outstanding Achievements in Academics, Athletics, and Community Service 2023. The Heisman Trophy Trust has the honor of announcing the 2023 School Winners for the Heisman High School Scholarship. Thousands of high school senior scholar-athletes graduating with the class of 2024 from 4,129 different schools across the country applied for the scholarship earlier this fall. From this talented group of accomplished, community-minded young men and women, more than 4,878 have earned the honor of becoming School Winners in the Heisman High School Scholarship competition awarded by The Heisman Trophy Trust.

The Spirits of all Three shall strive within me.” 🎭This holiday season don’t miss the classic… Charles Dicken’s “A Christmas Carol” a local Broken Bow Theatrical Society production presented Dec 1, 2, and 3 at 7pm with matinees Dec. 2 and 3 at 2pm at the Southeastern Campus theatre between Broken Bow and Idabel. Actors include Broken Bow students Joey and Mason Swafford, Merrick Davenport, Patience Husman, Kayson Warren and Ray Perry.

Savage Basketball Classic Schedule

Bennett 4th grader Ji’Vayia Hardin and 3rd grader Kolby Crudup are going to the AAU National Cross Country Championships! They will be doing a 3K run against 100+ other children in their age division in Tallahassee, Florida on Saturday, December 2nd. They qualified themselves for this big honor by placing FIRST in the Oklahoma District Cross Country on November 18, 2023. Join us in cheering them on along with coach, Debbie Scales! The Savage Dance Team will be holding a 50/50 raffle during the Savage Classic this weekend. Dance team members will be selling raffle tickets beginning at 3:30pm, with the winning ticket number announced during halftime of the final boys' game on both Friday and Saturday. $1 for 1 ticket; $2 for 3 tickets; $5 for 10 tickets. Support the Dance Team and you may be a winner!

BBHS Yearbook has partnered with several hair stylists/barbers to offer FREE HAIRCUTS to any high school student who wishes to get one, on Monday, December 4th, beginning at 8:30 am, in Mrs. Price's classroom. You may sign up to reserve a time slot with Mrs. Price beginning this (Thursday) morning.
