Steven Engler (4.458) is the son of Lee and Stephanie Engler. He is the grandson of Charlie and LaJuanna Stewart, Annette Engler and the late Vince Engler. He was selected as the “Nicest Senior Boy.” Engler is a three year member of the National Honor Society where he served as reporter in his senior year. He is also a member of the Oklahoma Honor Society and a Choctaw Star Student. He was chosen for the Kiwanis Senior of the Month for October. He is a two year member of the Student Council and Pep Club. Engler was a one year member of the Broken Bow Golf Team. He is a two year member of the Natural Athlete Strength Association (NASA). He currently holds the national record in bench and is the state record holder for back squat, bench, deadlift, and overall total in the 148-pound weight class with NASA. He was recently awarded Lifter of the Year in the high school division, Bench Presser of the Year in the high school division, and Overall Male Power Sports Athlete of the Year
for NASA. Engler has been attending Eastern Oklahoma State College and Southeastern Oklahoma State University. He will have earned 30 college credits when he begins attending Southern Arkansas University in the fall. He plans to pursue a degree in Exercise Science with a Pre-Professional Emphasis, then transferring to obtain a Doctorate in Physical Therapy.

Two members of the Broken Bow Savages Boys Track and Field Team won gold medals at the Regional Meet held in Madill on Monday. Junior Tyrin Tinajero placed first in the high jump, clearing the bar at 6'02". Freshman Greydon Howell won the gold medal in the 400M Run with an outstanding time of 49.88 seconds. Howell also placed second in the 200M Run with a time of 22.24 seconds. Both of these athletes will be competing in the State Track and Field Meet this weekend along with teammates Jakyran Whitfield, who finished 6th in the 400M Run, and the members of the 4X400M Relay who qualified with a third place finish at the regional meet. The OSSAA State Track and Field Championships are scheduled for this Friday and Saturday (May 3rd & 4th) in Catoosa.



Madisyn Lillie Morphew (4.429) is the daughter of Robert Morphew and Kelly Dalton. She is the granddaughter of Rhonda and Butch Lee and Cathy and Charlie Tallant. Madisyn is a member of the Student Council, National Honors Society, and is the Media Correspondent for Key Club. Madisyn is also the Treasurer of her senior class. She is one of the color guard captains of the Savage Pride Marching Band. Madisyn also participates in Showtime and choreographs dance routines for Bennett Starz. She has also received honors such as being a 6 year member of the All-District choir, a one-year member of the OkMEA All-State Mixed Chorus and has received superior ratings for solo and ensemble vocal competitions. She has also received the 2023 State Superintendent’s Award for Arts Excellence. Madisyn plans to attend Southern Arkansas University and major in Psychology and minor in Social Work.


Savage Junior Kennedee Brittian is the 2024 Regional Track and Field Champion in shot put with a heave of 37'03.5". Her outstanding effort qualified her to compete in the OSSAA State Championship Meet being held this Friday and Saturday (May 3rd & 4th) in Catoosa. Brittian also qualified in the discus throw, finishing second in that event. Other members of the Savage Girls Track and Field Team qualifying for the state meet are Haylie Brantley, Hailey Smith, Miranda Frazier and the members of the 4X400 relay team. Brantley placed 2nd in the 800M Run and 3rd in the 400M Run. Smith was 2nd in the 100M Hurdles while Frazier placed 2nd in the 300M Hurdles. The 4X400 Relay brought home 3rd place medals.

⚙️Will Woolsey and Tyler Marsh finished 3rd in the state Problem Solving.
🏎️Tyler Marsh made it to the finals(top 15) out of numerous other dragsters.
🤖42 robots competed in the VEX tournament and robot 99208A finished 3rd in the preliminary round and teamed up with 99208B in the tournament in which they got beat in the quarterfinals.
🦿Ben Serrano made it to the final 12 (out of about 30) tournament in Catapult before getting beaten.
🧑💻Tech Bowl competed in the final 16 team bracket before getting beaten by Yukon who placed 3rd.
👨💼Gunner Pope made to the final 12 to go through the interview process in Career Prep.
👾Video game design made it to the interview process with a qualified developed video game.

Riley Grace McBrayer (4.408) is the daughter of Jennifer and Christopher McBrayer. She is the granddaughter of Oleta and Foster McLain. Riley has received many academic honors, including being a member of the Oklahoma Honors Society, National Honors Society, and Kiwanis Senior of the Month. She is a four year member of the Savage Pride Marching Band, a three year member of the Broken Bow Showtime, a three year member of Student Council, and a two year member of Broken Bow Junior Chamber. Riley has been a member of the OKMEA All District and All State choir for three years, has received Arts and Excellence Award for Vocal and Instrumental Music, and has been given superior ratings at Solo and Ensemble for band and choir. Her future plans are to attend East Central University and major in Counseling and minor in Business.

The class worked together and had a tie between pink and blue and then worked really hard so Mrs. Kiper had to do both!
