🏀The state basketball playoffs continue this weekend for Class 4A teams in Oklahoma. Broken Bow travels to Sallisaw for a pair of sub-regional games tonight. The Lady Savages will face unranked Sallisaw with tipoff scheduled for 6:00 PM. The varsity boys will follow with a matchup against #14 Wagoner. The regional site for the remainder of the weekend will be in Muldrow. Due to restrictions by the state governing organization, the games will not livestream on our YouTube channel tonight. #AlwaysSavage

Dear RJMS Parents/Guardians, We are quickly approaching the time of the year that we are required to assess each student in English Language Arts (ELA), Math and for 8th graders, also Writing and Science. Below you will find our OSTP testing dates. We plead with you to make sure that your child is here on those dates but also the dates leading up to those tests. Teachers are currently reviewing content with your students in preparation for these tests. Attendance is a must so please refrain from checking your child out for reasons that are unnecessary. Doing so completely shifts the dynamics of the schedule that we’ve worked hard to secure. Success is not defined by these tests, however, we are extremely confident that each child has the ability to demonstrate growth. YOUR CHILD is completely capable of showing growth. YOUR CHILD can do hard things. We are so proud of our students for the work they’ve put in this year. A positive mindset sets the tone on test days. Please encourage your child and we too will continue to do the same. RJMS OSTP Test Dates: April 16th (Wednesday)- ALL DAY - 8th Grade Science OSTP April 21st (Monday)- ALL DAY - 6th/7th/8th ELA OSTP April 22nd (Tuesday) - Morning only - 8th Grade Writing OSTP April 29th (Tuesday) - ALL DAY - 6th/7th/8th MATH OSTP ALSO, due to the number of teachers needed to test all of our students according to testing regulations, we will also be testing SOME of our students on the dates listed below. The student testing on these dates will be individually notified by the Teacher(s) testing them. 🏋🏼‍♀️💥Broken Bow Senior Power Lifter Kennedee Brittain has set a new “unofficial” bench press 👉🏼state record in the Girls 198 lb. weight class! Brittain lifted 195 lbs. to establish the new benchmark but will need to duplicate the feat at next Monday’s state meet in order to establish a new official state record. In other results: The Lady Savages Varsity Powerlifters were the OGPCA South Regionals Runners-up and the Junior High Lady Savages are the South Regionals Champions! Today, three of our FCCLA students had an incredible experience at the Oklahoma State Capitol! They developed leadership skills, learned about advocacy and government relations, and even had the opportunity to meet with Eddy Dempsey. He gave us a behind-the-scenes look at the House of Representatives lounge, the floor, and the 4th-floor rotunda while sharing his inspiring backstory. What an amazing opportunity to advocate for Family and Consumer Sciences education and FCCLA, the Ultimate Leadership Experience!

🤼‍♂️Broken Bow Senior Jaden Allen makes history this week when he takes to the mat in the 165 lb. weight class at the Oklahoman State Wrestling Championships! 🏆The Road to the Big House Continues. 🏀Following impressive district wins over Poteau on Friday night, Broken Bow Varsity Basketball heads to Sallisaw for sub-regional games this Thursday night. The Lady Savages (19-6) tip off at 6:00 PM against the host team, unranked Sallisaw (17-8), to determine who will advance on to Saturday's regional championship game in Muldrow to face the winner of #4 Locust Grove (22-1) vs unranked Muldrow. Sallisaw defeated unranked Wagoner 34-25 in district play last weekend to advance into Thursday's game against Broken Bow. The Savages face off against #14 Wagoner (15-7) at 7:30 PM Thursday night. The winner advances to the regional finals in Muldrow on Saturday to face the winner of #6 Stilwell (19-4) vs unranked Muldrow. Wagoner defeated unranked Sallisaw 72-48 for the district title on Saturday night. The Oklahoma state basketball playoffs are a double-elimination tournament, meaning that teams must lose twice to be eliminated. Losers of Thursday's sub-regional games will play in consolation bracket games on Friday night in Muldrow. #GoSavages #TakeState

🏆Senior Savage wrestler Jaden Allen cemented his place at the State Wrestling tournament in dramatic form in a consolation Semifinal match this afternoon. Allen, trailing 4-1 with 30 seconds left in the match and underneath his opponent, collected his opponent’s elbows for a roll. He then reversed his opponent to his back to secure the pin for the win! 👉🏼Jaden becomes the first ever BBHS boys wrestler to qualify for OSSSA state tournament. He wrestles in the 165-pound weight division. Allen competes tonight at 6pm in the consolation finals in the 4A East Regioanls at Catoosa. This match will determine his bracket positioning at the 4A State tournament next weekend. Congratulations to Jaden Allen, Coach Dustin Lasell & the Savage Wrestling program for achieving another milestone!

Yesterday our choir students competed at District Solo and Ensemble Contest in Ada. We are extremely proud of them and their efforts. They represented Broken Bow very well. OSSAA State Contest here we come! A huge thank you to Stefanie Jones for being our awesome accompanist and Harley Jr Thomas for getting us there and home safely!

The Broken Bow #Wrestling Team is at the Class 4A East Regionals in Catoosa. 🤼Jaden Allen does a roll through cradle to secure near fall points in his quarter final match. Allen is 2-0 on the first day of wrestling. He will wrestle in the semifinals tomorrow (Saturday)! 🤼Gavin O’Niell up next with a Savage leg takedown. 🏀The Broken Bow Savages used a 23-3 run in the second quarter to blow open a close game, en route to a 74-40 rout of the Poteau Pirates in the district championship game Friday night! Jaxson McDaniel scored 18 points and Greydon Howell added 17 in just three quarters of action. Up next for the Savages are sub-regionals in Sallisaw on Thursday night.
