📖🐄 Learning you can see and taste!
Mrs. Loretta Wright’s ELA
While reading Number the Stars, students stepped into the story when Ellen, Annemarie, Mama, and Kristi visit Uncle Henrik’s farm and meet Blossom the cow, who provides milk, cream, and butter for the family.
To bring this moment to life, students made homemade butter, just like the family in the book! This hands-on activity helped students better understand daily life during this time period and made the story feel real, meaningful, and memorable.
Stories are even more powerful when you can experience them beyond the pages 💛
