⚾️SCOREBOARD: Savage Varsity Baseball swept a doubleheader against the Idabel Warriors on Tuesday in Broken Bow. In game one, Kale Ginn smashed a solo homerun and the Savage defense held off a late Warrior rally for a 6-5 victory. Jett Johnson got the start on the mound and gave up just one hit in the Savage win. In game two, the Savages scored early and often as they cruised to the 10-3 win. Senior Austin Burkhart pitched six innings, giving up just three hits and one earned run to record the win. Kolton Battiest drove in five runs for the Savages. #AlwaysSavage

⚾️The Broken Bow varsity #baseball team triumphed over Antlers with a score of 13-3 on Friday, driven by an impressive eight-run first inning. The team added five more runs on just two hits in the bottom of the second inning. Kale Ginn secured the victory for the Savages, demonstrating strong performance on the mound. The right-handed pitcher allowed only two hits and three runs (none earned) over three innings, while striking out one batter and issuing two walks. Will Scott provided solid relief, pitching one scoreless inning during which he recorded three strikeouts and did not allow any hits or walks. Austin Burkhart stood out offensively, going 2-for-2 at the plate and leading the team with three runs batted in. The team exhibited patience throughout the game, accumulating a total of eight walks. Additionally, both Paxton O’Neill and Burkhart showcased their speed on the bases, contributing to a combined total of seven stolen bases for the Savages! The next challenge for the team is a matchup against Idabel on Monday. #JOINUS #AlwaysSavage #JustGettingStarted

🏀What an exciting 2024/25 varsity #basketball season it has been for Broken Bow and basketball lover's everywhere! While it came to a close today at the area tournament in Okmulgee with a couple of tough losses, both teams have demonstrated incredible heart, determination and growth this season. It’s been an emotional journey filled with heart pounding excitement and unforgettable sentimental moments for both the players and fans. ⚾️The Broken Bow Varsity #Baseball Team Defeated Coalgate 6-2 Thursday! Coalgate got on the board in the second inning after Walkup tripled, scoring one run. A single by Burris extended the Coalgate lead to 2-0 in the top of the third inning. Broken tied the game in the bottom of the third thanks to a double by Christian Martinez, and a single by Austin Burkhart. Savages then took the lead in the bottom of the fourth. Gage Smith singled, scoring one run, to give us a leg up, 3-2. Austin Burkhart earned the win for Broken Bow as the hurler gave up only six hits and two runs over six innings, striking out seven and walking two. Christian Martinez collected the save. The Savages had nine hits in the game. Austin Burkhart, Christian Martinez, and Gage Smith each with two hits. Paxton O'Neill, Christian Martinez, and Gage Smith each drove in one run. Tyler Martinez had two walks and Christian Martinez also stole two bases. It was Kyson Blocker who made the most plays with eight. Overall, the baseball team had patience at the plate, were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error!
