📢Hey Hey! Please stay off the softball field today.
The softball field (and practice field by the hub) were sprayed today and we need everyone to stay off the playing surface to allow the treatment to work properly and safely.
Thank you for helping us keep our fields in great condition! 🖤💛

🚌WELCOME TO RJMS! PARENTS—Rector Johnson Middle School would like to inform the Parents of #NEW students that we are hosting a …

🎓Announcement for the Class of 2026! (Family and Friends)
TONIGHT our graduates are excited that we’ll be busing them for one last class ride together with an escort for a “special walk through the tunnel” at 8PM for the Broken Bow High School Graduation ceremony at Memorial Stadium!
🎥 For those unable to attend in person or worried about parking, don’t worry—watch the livestream on the Broken Bow Network @BrokenBowSavages on YouTube!
Important Details:
• Venue Update: Memorial Stadium is currently under restoration. Expect temporary turf on portions of the field for our Seniors and the stage. Some areas will be fenced off.
• Seating Arrangements: Audience seating will be limited to the home and visitor bleachers only. Unfortunately, no access to the end zone areas for lawn chairs will be available this year due to construction. Everything beyond the 20-yard line will be blocked off.
• Access Points: Entry to the field will be through gates on the home side and the northeast corner of the visitor’s side.
• Parking: Please note that parking will be limited. We encourage sharing rides and utilizing the livestream for convenience.
• Gates Open: 6:00 PM
• Ceremony Starts: 8:00 PM
Weather Contingency: In the event of bad weather, the ceremony will be moved to Sunday. However, we believe at this time we’ll move forward tonight. The Sports Complex is another option but it would have limited capacity as well. We are going to have faith that tonight’s plans will hold. 🖤💛

🏆🍎Congratulations to the 2026 Broken Bow Public School’s …
TEACHER OF THE YEAR
…from Rector Johnson Middle School— Mr. Kent Nix!
Kent was born to WD and Daisy Nix in September of 1970. Other than his
time in college, and his first three years after college, he has spent his life here in
Broken Bow.
He graduated from Broken Bow High school in 1988 and from Southeastern Oklahoma State University with a Math Education degree in 1992 which is when he began his teaching career as a math teacher in Graham-Weleetka, Oklahoma, near Henryetta. He then moved back to Broken Bow in 1995 where he began teaching high school math in Valliant, Oklahoma and at Southeastern’s remote campus in Idabel in the summer. In 1999 he began teaching Carpentry at Broken Bow High School after the passing of his former high school instructor Dale Cunningham. In 2014 he came to the Rector Johnson middle school to teach one year of math before taking over the Tech Ed program upon the retirement of Johnny Highful. He has spent the remainder of his years here at Broken Bow teaching the STEM program which included Design & Modeling, Automation and Robotics, Science of Technology, Magic of Electrons, and Flight and Space.
His classes were also involved in the VEX Robotics and TSA competitions throughout the years.
Kent and Carey, his wife of 35 years, have three children; MaKenzie Adams, Cameron Nix and Mia Nix. Mackenzie owns a Daycare in Idabel, Cameron works in Ohio and Mia sadly passed away in her senior year at Broken Bow in April of 2025 with complications of pneumonia.
Upon retirement Kent looks forward to spending time with his six grandkids
and his family while also spending more time studying God’s word. He also looks
forward to watching Broken Bow Savage sporting events even when it’s during
school hours. lol.
Kent enjoys working and will continue to work using his carpentry skills or other various skills. He also enjoys writing songs to encourage and uplift the faith and spirits of others. Writing these songs that share hope in Christ on his YouTube channel has been a great escape and relaxing hobby.
He knows he is far from perfect but he hopes the platform which God gave
him as a teacher has given students’ an example of which they can emulate.
He realizes that many of you guys are as good or better than he is at his job and that many of you deserve the award as much or more than he does, but he thanks you for your confidence.
It is an honor. Broken Bow School has been very good to him and he is thankful for the
opportunity given to him. He will continue to support the school in any way he
can but he is ready for the next stage of his life.
