Christmas Break

Student Honors and Awards

All State Band auditions were held this past Saturday at Westmoore High School and I’m proud to announce BBHS had two students selected.   Nathan Hossenlopp made 7 th Chair Percussion in the prestigious Band Wind Ensemble and Zach Thomas made 2 nd Chair Percussion in the All State Orchestra.   This is the OkMEA All State Band and Orchestra that includes students from all schools 6A and below from across the entire state.  These two young gentlemen spent 4-5 hours a night in the band room practicing over the past month, including weekends and Thanksgiving break.  If you see these two . . .

Coca-Cola Scholarship Finalists Announced!

  Amanda Atchley, Brenna Tuttle, and Nathan Hossenlopp have been named Semifinalists for the 2019 class of the Coca-Cola Scholars Program .  1,896 high school seniors were selected as Semifinalists from a pool of 95,715 applications from across the country based on their academic excellence, leadership and service demonstrated in school and community activities.  The Semifinalists are in the running for 150 college scholarships worth $20,000.  Atchley, Tuttle, and Hossenlopp are moving to the next round of the selection process to become a Coca-Cola Scholar and receive a $20,000 college . . .

BBHS Hosts Career Day

  On Tuesday, November 13, Broken Bow High School hosted their biennial Career Day with 57 speakers consisting of local community members and several from other areas of the state.  Speakers representing various career areas volunteered their time and experience to help 9 th through 12 th grade students to make informed decisions about their future.
