The Ragland Family Education Foundation 2021 Scholarship

$5,000 per semester for 4 semesters

 

Due: March 15

Oklahoma High School graduates with at least a cumulative unweighted GPA of 2.5 or above and who plan to pursue a college/university degree with a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) major.  Careers in Medical Services (including, but not limited to, veterinary medicine, nursing, dermatology, speech therapy, physical therapy and/or nurse practitioners) do not meet criteria for this scholarship.  For more information and to apply, go to www.raglandfamilyfoundation.com

Frances Koop Parsons/AT&T Pioneers Memorial Scholarship

$1,000 cash award over two semesters

 

Due: Postmarked on or before March 26

Application is available on Mrs. Trent’s Class of 2021 Google Classroom, or on the shelf in front of BBHS library. Students with at least a 3.0 high school GPA whose family does not exceed $75,000.  Must enroll full-time at an eligible Oklahoma postsecondary institution.  Preference will be given to students with a strong volunteer and leadership background.  Mail completed application, high school transcript, and 2019 tax return to address listed on last page of application.

Chahta Foundation Scholarships

Scholarship values range from $1,000 to $40,000; Associates-Doctorate; and technical schools


Due: March 31

The Chahta Foundation offers competitive scholarships for Choctaw Tribal members, students, and/or faculty who plan to pursue post-secondary education.  They also offer a unique scholarship opportunity to graduating high school seniors within the 10.5 counties.  There are two $1,000 “Tribal Districts” scholarships available exclusive to BBHS Choctaw Seniors.  To learn more about all the scholarship opportunities available or to apply, please visit:  www.chahtafoundation.com/scholarships

Masonic Lodge Scholarship

Due: April 1

To apply, send a cover letter explaining who you are and why you want to be considered for the scholarship along with a 1-2 page resume containing your honors, activities, community service, etc., to: Broken Bow Masonic Lodge, P.O. Box 143, Broken Bow, OK  74728

Lions Club Scholarship

Due: April 1

Any BBHS senior may apply, must be planning to attend college or trade school next fall 2021.  Application is available on Mrs. Trent’s Class of 2021 Google Classroom, or on the shelf in front of BBHS library. Application must be turned in to Mrs. Trent by due date.

Quarterback Club

Scholarship

Due: April 1

To apply, must be a senior member of the

Broken Bow Football Team.  BBQBC membership and active participation of the team member's parents/guardians is desired but not required for consideration of the scholarship.  Student must have a minimum of 2.5 unweighted GPA and meet regular college admission requirements.  Application is available on Mrs. Trent’s Class of 2021 Google Classroom, or on the shelf in front of BBHS library. Application must be turned in to Mrs. Trent by due date.

Daphana Cook Memorial Scholarship

$500

 

Due: April 2

This scholarship will be given to two Broken Bow High School students who will be attending a post-secondary vocational school, junior college, or 4-year university with a primary degree or certification in nursing, must have a 3.0 GPA and must have financial need for the scholarship.

Broken Bow Education Foundation Scholarship

This scholarship is available for Seniors at Broken Bow High School in Broken Bow, OK ONLY!  Please go to the following google form to submit your application.  You need two letters of recommendation and an official copy of your transcript to upload to the form.

Delta Kappa Gamma Beta Kappa Chapter Scholarship

Due: April 9

Must be planning to pursue a degree in the teaching field.  Application is available on Mrs. Trent’s Class of 2021 Google Classroom, or on the shelf in front of BBHS library. Application must be mailed or delivered to person on application by due date.

Kiwanis Scholarship

$1,000

 

Due: April 9

Any BBHS senior may apply, must be planning to go to a post-secondary school, vocational technological school, junior college, college, or university, and must have a grade point average of 2.5 or better.  Application is available on Mrs. Trent’s Class of 2021 Google Classroom, or on the shelf in front of BBHS library. Application must be turned in to Mrs. Trent by due date.

Broken Bow Minister’s Fellowship Scholarship

$500

 

Due: April 9

Any BBHS senior may apply, must be planning to attend university, college, or vocational program.  Application is available on Mrs. Trent’s Class of 2021 Google Classroom, or on the shelf in front of BBHS library. Application must be turned in to Mrs. Trent by due date.

Anna Spencer Scholarship

$500

 

Due: April 15

Write a letter describing why you should receive the scholarship and submit it to Mrs. Trent by the due date.  Please address your letter to Ms. Spencer and discuss your primary motivation in life.  This is for students who are going to college or technical school.

Bob Burke Scholarship

 

$1,000

 

Due: April 15

Outstanding Student in Drama, Speech, and Journalism from Broken Bow High School.  Application is available on Mrs. Trent’s Class of 2021 Google Classroom, or on the shelf in front of BBHS library. Application must be turned in to Mrs. Trent by due date.

Bob Burke Scholarship

$1,000

 

Due: April 15

Outstanding student who intends to pursue a career in Law from Broken Bow High School.  Application is available on Mrs. Trent’s Class of 2021 Google Classroom, or on the shelf in front of BBHS library. Application must be turned in to Mrs. Trent by due date.

Betty Slater Gibson Scholarship

Oklahoma Rural Rehabilitation Corporation Scholarship

$200-$500

 

Due April 15

One time scholarship grant for a graduating senior for their first year of advanced education. Oklahoma Rural Rehabilitation Corporation provides this grant for one year only.  Scholarships are available to residents of Oklahoma only and student must obtain education & training in Oklahoma. McCurtain County Farm Bureau Scholarship

Two, one time $500 Scholarship

and a $1000 Dr. Tom E. Coffin Memorial Scholarship

Parents must be a member of McCurtain County Farm Bureau and preference will be given to those applicants seeking agricultural related fields.  Must be enrolled full time in Fall 2020 at a 4 year college, 2 year junior college, or a 2 year Career Technical Institute.  Application is available on Mrs. Trent’s Class of 2021 Google Classroom, or on the shelf in front of BBHS library.

*Application must be turned in at any McCurtain County Farm Bureau Office no later than April 16.

 

Broken Bow Fire Fighter’s Association

Scholarship

$750

 

Due: April 22

Must be planning to attend any accredited college or career tech center in the fall 2021.  Application is available on Mrs. Trent’s Class of 2021 Google Classroom, or on the shelf in front of BBHS library. Deliver or mail application to address listed on application by the due date.

Eastern Star Scholarship

$1,000

 

Due: April 22

Female students can apply for this scholarship.  Application is available on Mrs. Trent’s Class of 2021 Google Classroom, or on the shelf in front of BBHS library. Application must be mailed to address on application by the due date.
