NLC & State Convention

May 5, 2020

We are working to secure refunds for both NLC and State Convention.  Southwest Airlines did confirm yesterday that they have issued a refund for airfare, but that it could take up to 30 days.  You will be receiving a full refund for state convention and all of NLC less the cost of Virtual NLC.

4/6 - Day 1

Monday afternoon - It was great to see all of you this morning, you made my day!   Please let Ms. Cockrell or I know if you have any questions.  Our chapter received the link to vote for the 2020-21 SEC, and we submitted your votes.  Get your raffle tickets and money to the superintendent's office, or mail to Broken Bow HS, 108 W 5th Street.  Please do NOT mail cash!  I am looking forward to seeing your officer videos (30-60 secs), Why I Want to be a FCCLA Officer.  Watch this website and our social media accounts for up-dates. I will be sharing our next zoom login information on Wednesday.

More great news from the Showcase:

  • Kenzlee Camp will be serving as the Oklahoma State President. The school year has gone by so quickly.  I have missed all of you these last nine weeks, and I am sad that we have to end our school year this way.  Many of you joined us on Zoom and it was wonderful to see your faces.  You have done some amazing projects to meet your FCS Challenges, and I am proud of all of you.
  • We had 4 First Place State STAR Events winners.
  • 5 of our members placed third in State STAR Events

Ms. Cockrell received the Wanda S. Holman Adviser Scholarship

The year has flown by.  Even though none of us ever thought we'd spend the last nine weeks of school via distance learning we have stayed strong.  I have missed seeing your faces everyday, but I am proud of all of you!  You have done some amazing things with your FCS Challenges, and through FCCLA contests and projects.  Remember to watch facebook and our social media for updates about National STAR Events  and Virtual NLC.  At Virtual NLC July 7-9 we will be honoring our members, officers, and STAR Event competitors.  Parents are welcome to attend.
