In 1988 I graduated from Oklahoma Christian University in Edmond with a BS in Education. Go EAGLES! From there I moved to Alvin, Texas, near Houston, where I taught 4th to 6th grade for 19 years. Most of those years I taught Math and Science, but I was also a GT Specialist. Computers and technology have always been a strong interest of mine, so in 1998 I completed a MA in Instructional Technology and continue to use as many types of technology as is practical in my teaching. More recently I completed my MA in Educational Leadership at Southern Nazarene University.
After coming to Broken Bow in 2007 I have taught 3rd grade, 4th grade, and 6th grade Science. While at Bennett with the support of Mr. Bible and Mrs. Ellisor, I began the Elementary Robotics Program. We started with one team and now we have three teams planning to participate in the FIRST Lego League 2017 Competition Season. I've spent nine great years teaching at Bennett Elementary and two awesome years at Rector Johnson Middle School teaching 6th grade Science. I am currently working with the district as a technology specialist.
I live on a farm southeast of Idabel and share my space with family, friends, and a variety of animals.
It is a joy to work in the Broken Bow school district. I truly appreciate all the wonderful children I have met over the years and I am thankful to have had the opportunity to share in their education.
