AWESOME S.A.U.C.E.(Students Achieving Unique Choices of Excellence):
In August 2013, we implemented the AWESOME S.A.U.C.E. program., This program focuses on self-responsible behaviors that are both personal and academic.This program is composed of a 3-tier incentive/recognition process.
- CLASSROOM REWARDS:Classroom recognition/praise:Teachers that see good things happening in their classrooms should implement their own reward practices as a means of acknowledging the good behavior.Names of these students can then be reported to Mrs. Battles on Wednesday each week so that they can also be recognized once a week through our Daily Broadcast.
- PRINCIPAL’S REWARDS:When a student is “caught” going ABOVE & BEYOND (grades, assignments, behaviors, etc.) their name is turned in to the Principal’s office.These students will be recognized during our bi-monthly assembly that will take place in the Savage Café during the RJMS lunch period.The names of these students will be read aloud (multiple submissions will be noted).Their names will be placed in a drawing and we will give prizes to a certain percentage of these students.Prizes will come from community donations and/or prizes purchased through our MS Coke fund.
- BI-ANNUAL REWARDS:This reward focuses on recognizing students that demonstrate great overall performance on a regular basis. Towards the end of each semester, students who had grades of B's or higher, had no 0’s in the grade book, no more than 3 unexcused absences, and disciplinary actions are deemed eligible to receive this reward. These students will be recognized during the AWESOME SAUCE Assembly and their names will be placed in a drawing for prizes.They will also receive prizes from local business donors.
