We have finally reached graduation week for the Class of 2020!  You may come to the high school office to pick up your diploma, cap & gown package, and/or purchase a tassel for $20.  The high school office is open Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to noon.  Check your local newspapers on Friday or the weekend edition for the BBHS Scholarship article.  Also, I will post a Senior Awards slide presentation on our school website by Friday.https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/19lNOxDcEXymNnsJpmVhnfw-HYhoOuO0cESNa4Kx6UxQ/edit?usp=sharing

Friday, June 12
Senior Graduation Practice - 9:00am - Memorial Stadium
(All seniors participating in graduation MUST attend.) each graduate will receive their 10 tickets at this time. 

  • National Honor Society members who wish to wear honor stoles should bring $30 with them to practice. (bring cash and exact amount)

Broken Bow High School graduation will be held at Memorial Stadium on June 13, 2020 at 8:00 pm. We are happy to be able to celebrate this time with our well deserving seniors. However, given the fact that we have a rising number of COVID 19 cases in McCurtain County, we will be following guidelines that will help protect our students, faculty, and guests. 

  • Each graduate will receive 10 tickets to be given to family and friends to attend. Graduates will receive these tickets at graduation practice on Friday, June 12th at 9:00 am. 
  • Graduates will be required to wear masks that will be provided by the school. 
  • Graduates will be spaced 6 feet apart at all times during the ceremony. 
  • Spectators are strongly encouraged to wear masks.
  • Spectators may also choose to bring lawn chairs to sit in designated areas to help maintain social distancing.

We encourage all who are at a higher risk to consider watching the ceremony in the safety of their home. If the graduation cannot be held due to inclement weather, it will be rescheduled for the following Monday at 10:00 am. 

 

*Email Mrs. Holmes for transcripts @ csholmes@bbisd.org.  If you have already written a college name on her clipboard (before COVID-19), she will automatically mail an updated transcript after you graduate.

 

*College reminders:

  1. Complete your FAFSA application online. 
  2. Contact your college to apply for housing and meal plan
  3. Contact your college to enroll in classes
  4. Contact the financial aid office at your college to get a cost analysis

*If you belong to a tribe other than Choctaw, contact that tribe for possible scholarships. 

 

*Seniors: If you plan to take college classes at EOSC/SOSU in Idabel, summer and fall enrollment is open.  You will not need concurrent paperwork from Mrs. Trent.  You will only need a copy of your current transcript to enroll.  Email Mrs. Holmes for your transcript @ csholmes@bbisd.org.

 

*If you plan to take college classes this summer and need financial aid, you need to contact the college’s financial aid department ASAP to complete paperwork.  Oklahoma’s Promise can’t be used during the summer following your senior year.

 

*If you are Choctaw, Mrs. Gena Fowler with Choctaw Nation Career Development can assist you with the following: Career Guidance Services, Assessment Testing, Academic Remediation, and Financial Assistance for Quality Training, Career Readiness, Employment services. *If you are expecting to get assistance through an American Indian tribe, make sure you have a CDIB card AND a tribal membership card.

 

*If you have a physical, mental, or visual disorder/diagnosis/disability, contact the Vocational Rehabilitation office in Idabel at (580)286-3389 to set up an appointment and obtain the paperwork.  They have resources to help you with college expenses, and/or help with getting a job.
