*Everyone needs to take the ACT test at least once this year. The next test will be given on April 14 at SOSU-McCurtain County Campus in Idabel. The deadline to sign up for this test with no late fee is March 9. The last ACT test this year will be given on June 9. If you get free or reduced lunch, see Mrs. Bible for a fee waiver. You can still register for the February 11 test through January 20, but you will have to pay the extra late fee.
*See Mrs. Bible if you are interested in attending the OSU Legacy and Leadership Conference on February 18, 2011. You must apply by February 3rd in order to attend. “The Leadership Conference is planned and executed by members of the Student Alumni Board, OSU’s top leaders. The purpose of the conference is to provide an opportunity for interaction between student leaders across the state as well as surrounding states and develop their individual skills. Activities include a variety of student-led workshops focusing on: leadership, teamwork, conflict/resolution, goal setting, and personality.” You will provide your own transportation to this conference.
*You have the opportunity to take college classes this summer. You must have a 19 composite ACT score or a 3.0 GPA w/ top 50% rank to qualify. If you are interested, please keep an eye on www.se.edu/mccurtain. As soon as the summer schedule is posted, see Mrs. Bible to get the paperwork that you will need to enroll. The sooner you enroll, the more likely you are to get in the classes you want. The classes fill quickly, so don’t wait until the last minute. See Mrs. Bible if you have any questions. Please be aware that summer classes will not appear on your high school transcript.
*If you want to see if you may qualify for financial aid when you go to college, go to http://www.fafsa4caster.ed.gov/.
