Mrs. Linda Clowers
TEACHER OF THE YEAR 2014-2015
Linda Clowers is a graduate of Southeastern Oklahoma State University and obatained a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. She went back to Southeastern Oklahoma State University to be certified to teach Learning Disabilities and Intellectural Disabilities. She is also certified in Other Health Impairment, Autistic, Multiple Disabilities, and Traumatic Brain Injury. She started working with Special Needs students at the age of 17 as a teacher's assistant in the Idabel Publc Schools for 10 years. She then started her teaching career working for county school for 3 years. Then in 1991 she came to Broken Bow and has taught Multiple Disabilities students for the last 23 years.
Linda and her husband, Lester, have 2 sons and 1 daughter. Joshua who graduated from Southeastern last May and is currently teaching a Lukfata, Chance, who is adopted by love and also graduated from Southeastern last December with a Criminal Justice degree, and Rebekah who also just graduated from Southeastern this month with a Bachelor of Arts in English Education. Linda is an active member of Faith Assembly of God in Idabel.
Linda believes that all students, given the opportunity, can and will learn to their ability. She feels that all students need someone to believe in them. She will always believe that special needs students are a special population.
