As required by § 311, Title 25 of the Oklahoma Statutes, notice is hereby given that the Board of Education of Independent School District No. 74, McCurtain County, Oklahoma, will hold a regular meeting on May 12, 2014 at 6:00 p.m., in the Board of Education Building, Broken Bow Public Schools, 108 West 5th Street, Broken Bow, Oklahoma.

 

The Broken Bow School District Board of Education may discuss, vote to approve, vote to disapprove, vote to table or decide not to vote on any item on this agenda.

a.            Approve the minutes of the regular meeting of April 14, 2014.

b.            Approve the encumbrance and expenditures of the following funds:

                Activity Funds-PO#-1852-1912/ General Funds-PO#2756-2798/Sinking Fund PO# 4/

                Child Nutrition-PO#35/Co - Op-PO#27-32

c.             Approve the Lease between Broken Bow School District Public Trust and Broken Bow Independent School District, ending June 30, 2015.

d.            Approve the agreement with Clearwater Enterprises, natural gas supplier, effective July 1, 2014               through June 30, 2015.

e.            Approve the License and Service agreement with SOCS, simplified online communication system, effective 7/1/14 through 6/30/17.

f.             Approve the Supplemental Appropriations for 2013/2014.

g.            Approve the Contractual Agreement for the provision of Early Childhood, between Little Dixie Community Action Agency, Inc. (Little Dixie Head Start) and Broken Bow Public Schools, contract is effective May 1, 2014 – May 31, 2015. (see attached)

h.            Approve the Memorandum of Understanding between Broken Bow Public Schools and Little Dixie Community Action Agency, Inc. (Little Dixie Head Start) memorandum is good for the 2014-2015 school year. (see attached)

i.              Approve the Special Services Agreement between Broken Bow Public Schools and Little Dixie    Head Start for the 2014-2015 school year. (see attached)

j.             Approve the following 2014-2015 Student Emergency Transfer(s). (See attached list)

k.            Approve the out of state trip for the Girls Basketball Team to travel to Sherman, Texas, May 15-               18, 2014.

l.              Approve the transfer of $168.00 from the High School Cheerleaders account (#967) to the Spirit                Boosters account (#991).

m.           Approve the following activity fund raiser(s):

                RJMS Awesome Sauce - entry fee for inflatable fun activities – for student rewards, gift cards,   food for rewards, etc.

n.            Approve the Eligibility Criteria for Admission and/or Continuation into Rector Johnson Middle

                School Honors Courses. (see attached)

8.            Propose executive session to discuss the termination of Lisa Lopez, Child Nutrition, the                 resignation of Mandy Camp, Bennett Elementary Teacher; Kelly Jennings, Middle School &      Bennett Elementary Counselor; Kenneth Ward, Middle School Principal; Lindsey Hembree, Dierks Elementary Teacher; Sam Hembree, High School Teacher/Football Coach/Asst. Baseball Coach; Ashlei Hanks, Middle School 8th Grade English; Brenda Gulley, Middle School/high School

                ISD; Laressa Luper, High School Teachers Aide.

                The hiring of the following positions:

                 Middle School Self-Contained Special Education Teacher, Middle School English Teacher, Middle              School Math Teacher, High School Biology Teacher, High School English Teacher, High School                 Social Studies/Coach, High School Asst. Basketball Coach/Drivers Education Teacher, Two (2)  Bennett Elementary Teachers, a Dierks Elementary Teacher (2nd Grade), a Dierks Elementary Special Education Teacher, Dierks Elementary Kindergarten Teacher, Dierks Elementary Secretary and a Cafeteria worker, as authorized by 25 O.S.§307 (B) (1) (7)(3).

 

9.            Vote to convene or not convene into executive session

                The resignation of the following people:

                Mandy Camp, Kelly Jennings, Kenneth Ward, Lindsey Hembree, Sam Hembree,  Ashlei Hanks,   Brenda Gulley, Laressa Luper.

                To hire for the following positions:

                Middle School Self-Contained Special Ed Teacher, Middle School English Teacher, Middle School               Math Teacher, High School Biology Teacher, High School English Teacher, High School Social     Studies/ Coach, High School Asst. Basketball Coach/Drivers Education Teacher,  Two (2) Bennett   Elementary Teachers, a Dierks Elementary Teacher (Grade 2), Dierks Elementary Special      Education Teacher, Dierks Elementary Kindergarten Teacher, Dierks  Elementary Secretary and a     Cafeteria worker as authorized by 25  O.S. § 307 (B) (1) (7) of the Oklahoma Meeting Act.   

                All members were present with the exception of _______________.

                The board did not take any official votes or actions in executive session and returned to open

                session at ______ pm.

 

 

11.          Vote to approve or not approve the termination of Lisa Lopez, Child Nutrition, as recommended  by Randy Seibert, Child Nutrition Director, and Superintendent, Carla Ellisor, effective June 30,  2014.

 

12.          Vote to accept or not accept the resignation of Mandy Camp, Bennett Elementary Teacher,  effective May 20, 2014.

 

13.          Vote to accept or not accept the resignation of Kelly Jennings, Middle School Counselor, effective May 20, 2014.

 

14.          Vote to accept or not accept the resignation of Kenneth Ward, Middle School Principal, effective

                May 20, 2014.

 

15.          Vote to accept or not accept the resignation of Lindsey Hembree, Dierks Elementary Teacher,

                effective May 20, 2014.

 

16.          Vote to accept or not accept the resignation of Sam Hembree, High School History Teacher, Football Coach and Asst. Baseball Coach, effective May 20, 2014.

 

17.          Vote to accept or not accept the resignation of Ashlei Hanks, Middle School 8th Grade English,

                effective date May 20, 2014.

 

18.          Vote to accept or not accept the resignation of Brenda Gulley, Middle School/High School ISD,

                effective May 20, 2014.

 

19.          Vote to accept or not accept the resignation of Laressa Luper, High School Teachers Aide,

                effective May 19, 2014.

 

20.          Vote to hire or not hire a Middle School Self – Contained Special Ed Teacher for the 2014 – 2015                school year, as recommended by Middle School Principal, Belinda Highful and Superintendent, Carla Ellisor.

 

21.          Vote to hire or not hire a Middle School English Teacher for the 2014-2015 school year, as             recommended by Middle School Principal, Belinda Highful and Superintendent, Carla Ellisor.

 

22.          Vote to hire or not hire a Middle School Math Teacher for the 2014-2015 school year, as                recommended by Middle School Principal, Belinda Highful and Superintendent, Carla Ellisor.           

 

23.          Vote to hire or not hire a High School Biology Teacher for the 2014-2015 school year, as recommended by Principal, Rod Davis and Superintendent, Carla Ellisor.

 

24.          Vote to hire or not hire a High School English Teacher for the 2014 – 2015 school year, as               recommended by Principal, Rod Davis and Superintendent, Carla Ellisor.

 

25.          Vote to hire or not hire a High School Social Studies/Coach for the 2014 – 2015 school year, as     recommended by Principal, Rod Davis and Superintendent, Carla Ellisor.

 

26.          Vote to renew or find reasons not to renew the employment of David Powell as High School  Asst. Basketball Coach and High School Drivers Education Teacher, for the 2014-2015 school  year as recommended by Principal, Rod Davis and Superintendent, Carla Ellisor.

 

27.          Vote to hire or not hire an Elementary Teacher for Bennett Elementary for the 2014-2015 school year, as recommended by Principal, Jarod Bible and Superintendent, Carla Ellisor.

 

28.          Vote to hire or not hire an Elementary Teacher for Bennett Elementary for the 2014 – 2015         school year, as recommended by Principal, Jarod Bible and Superintendent, Carla Ellisor.

 

29.          Vote to hire or not hire a Teacher for Dierks Elementary for the 2014 – 2015 school year, as          recommended by Principal, Terry Stricker and Superintendent, Carla Ellisor.

 

30.          Vote to hire or not hire a Dierks Elementary Special Education Teacher for the 2014-2015 school                year as recommended by Principal, Terry Stricker and Superintendent, Carla Ellisor.

 

31.          Vote to hire or not hire a Dierks Elementary Kindergarten Teacher for the 2014-2015 school year               as recommended by Principal, Terry Stricker and Superintendent, Carla Ellisor.

 

32.          Vote to hire or not hire a Special Education Teacher for Dierks Elementary for the 2014-2015

                school year, as recommended by Principal, Terry Stricker and Superintendent, Carla Ellisor.

 

33.          Vote to hire or not hire a Dierks Elementary Secretary for the 2014-2015 school year, as                 recommended by Principal, Terry Stricker and Superintendent, Carla Ellisor.

 

34.          Vote to hire or not hire a Cafeteria Worker for the 2014 – 2015 school year, as recommended by

                Child Nutrition Director, Randy Seibert and Superintendent, Carla Ellisor.

 

35.          Discussion:  Discuss and possible action to adopt a disavowing resolution to the Broken Bow Board of Education policies.
