Bennett Elementary Principal's Welcome

We have returned to school from the holidays refreshed and excited to see each other. We have been experiencing a good amount of winter weather. As a result a lot more time has been spent inside especially in the mornings when the temperatures are below 40 degrees.
These winter months are also a critical piece of the puzzle to our overall strategy toward making our academic progress goals. These moths the students appear to have a higher level of ability to grasp the lessons.
The teachers have been working with the data from the Alpha Plus Benchmark list. Each grade level department has completed some intense training. The teams included best practices of how to utilize the benchmark result. They are encouraged to put a face to a name and further personalize the students results. In doing so, specific steps are taken to improve performances on the upcoming benchmark exam. Teachers have also been able to take a closer look at the results to draw any conclusion to do with their own strengths and weaknesses as an instructor.
We have appreciated the feedback concerning the districts web site. We’ll continue to strive to keep the welcome updated at least monthly. Mr. Greene periodically encourages the Bennett staff to submit story ideas.
In closing, I want to make a specific comment about opportunities to volunteer at Bennett. We have been blessed by individuals that respond to give their time. If you ever would like to be included on our Volunteer list. Please give the Bennett office a call.
