Pyle                    Chief Gary Batton Assistant Chief   We would like to introduce you to a new and exciting program initiated by Chief Gregory E. Pyle of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. It is the Choctaw S.T.A.R. (Success Through Academic Recognition) Education Incentive Program. Chief Pyle realizes the future of the Choctaw Nation lies within our youth and their opportunity to obtain a quality education. This program is designed to encourage and promote outstanding academic success for all Choctaw students.   The program is proposed to encourage the academic success of Choctaw students. It provides students with an incentive to strive for the highest level of academic achievement. The program includes all Johnson O'Malley (JOM) 2nd through12th-grade Choctaw students within the Choctaw Nation whose school is a participating member. The program also includes those Choctaw students whose school is within the 10 ½ -county area but does not participate in the JOM program. Students must have a valid CDIB card, be a member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma and achieve no grade lower than a B to be eligible for recognition. Students will also be recognized for having perfect attendance.     The intent of this program is to improve the academic success of all eligible 2nd through 12th­grade students. Additional growth of the program in the Choctaw Nation is envisioned as more schools become participants. The program will continue improving the academic success of the Choctaw students. It is our hope that this recognition, along with parent and teacher encouragement, will provide the incentive each child needs to achieve success in his or her academic endeavors.     Click on the following links for the Requirements and the Application for this program.
