John W. Jones
John W. Jones, an art teacher and coach at Rector Johnson Middle School, was named the 2008 Broken Bow Teacher of the year.
"Mr. Jones has really been an ambassador to the community in addition to his work in the classroom," Davis said.
Mr. Jones attended Broken Bow Schools from first through twelfth grades, and has a B.S. and a Master of Science from Texas A&M, Commerce (ETSU).
After serving active duty in the United States Marine Corps, he worked as a graduate assistant at both Oklahoma State University Zoology Department and the Texas A&M Commerce Athletic Department.
Jones has taught a variety of subjects at the elementary, middle school, and high school levels at Lukfata, Wright City, and Broken Bow Schools.
He has taught art, health, and physical education at Broken Bow Public Schools for 17 of the last 27 years.
